Background
In September 2008, Afren successfully completed the acquisition of Devon Energy Corporation’s interests in Côte d’Ivoire for an adjusted consideration of US$164 million, comprising a 47.96% participating interest and operatorship of the producing Block CI-11, a direct 65% participating interest (with rights over an additional 15%) and operatorship of the undeveloped Block CI-01 and 100% ownership of the onshore Lion Gas Plant.
