La Noumbi

Background
The La Noumbi permit covers 2,830 km2 and lies adjacent to - and on trend with - the large onshore producing M'Boundi which is currently producing circa 40,000 bopd with reserves in excess of 250 mmbbls.  Several wells have been drilled on the block with good oil shows and/or oil produced on test (the Tie-Tie discovery well in 1982 flowed 1,689 bopd).  These wells were drilled without the benefit of modern good quality seismic data.  M'Boundi, one of the largest onshore fields discovered in recent years in West Africa, produces from the Vandji play that also forms the primary exploration target at La Noumbi.

Operations update
The Tie Tie NE exploration well was spudded in December 2009 and reached a total depth of 2,550 metres in the Djeno formation.  Hydrocarbon indications were recorded between 1,775 and 1,875 metres and were composed mainly of gas, which due to the distance from potential markets does not suggest a viable commercial development.  The well was plugged and abandoned.

The well data gathered will further enhance the regional understanding of the area and remaining the prospectivity of the block.
