Environmental Policy

We will carry out our business such that the environment is protected.

To achieve this we will:

  • Comply with law.
  • Identify and assess potential environmental aspects, assess associated risks and establish operational controls that aim to eliminate acute impacts and to eliminate or limit emissions to permitted emission quality thresholds.
  • Identify significant environmental aspects, where improvement targets need to be set, and to seek and monitor such improvements.
  • Establish and apply Environmental operational standards and processes including Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental Management Plans.
  • Set environmental related targets; measure, appraise and report performance against those targets.
  • Analyse deviations from emission thresholds to identify control failures and implement the necessary corrective action.
  • Respond effectively to environmental incidents – Seek ways to minimise energy use in operations and use energy efficiently.
  • Reduce waste generation as far as is practical and dispose of waste in a responsible manner without creating legacy issues and liabilities.
  • Specify within contracts the environmental requirements and standards that shall be met by contractors and their sub-contractors.
  • Be able to demonstrate that, within operations, environmental risks and issues are understood and are being managed responsibly.
  • Carry out periodic audits and assessments of environmental controls as part of the continuous improvement process.
