Prof. Peters is the Frank W. Jessen Professor of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin where he has been a faculty member since 1980. He is a former chairman of the Department of Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering at UT Austin. Prof. Peters has over 35 years of varied petroleum engineering experience in field operations, education and research. His petroleum industry experience was with Shell BP in Nigeria,
Amoco Production Company in the USA and United Petro Laboratories in Canada.
